Maggie and Lloyd (and Rian)...

If you've been following the blog lately you'll know that we just held a competition, so you've probably been introduced to the winners, the lovely Laura and Andrew. You've also probably read how hard it was to cut down the finalists and that I went against my own rules and decided to have runners up...

So... I'd like to introduce you to the absolutely lovely, Maggie and Lloyd, and their story...

Lloyd and I met in 2004 on a night out with my sister, Aine and her husband, Aaron. Lloyd is Aaron's friend and Lloyd's Best Man.

We were out celebrating Aaron's birthday. Lloyd and I talked through the night but I never really thought any more about it until the following week when my sister Aine told me that Lloyd really liked me and wanted us all to go out again so that he could see me. Little did I know that Aaron had said the exact same thing to Lloyd! So we were set up, almost like a blind date, as I had forgotten what Lloyd looked like!!

We met up again the following weekend, thinking that we were both really interested in each other and we found out that we really were! We had a lovely night and Lloyd asked me out on a proper date and I said yes. He took me to the Dunadry Hotel for dinner and he was very romantic and sweet. We both knew that we had something special. That is why we are getting married in the Dunadry, because it means a lot to us.

I have a little 8 year old boy called Rian from a previous relationship, and Lloyd has been so caring and loving towards him, they have been best friends from they met and that is one of the reasons that I fell in love with Lloyd, because he loved me and Rian. Rian is walking me down the aisle on our wedding day as both of my parents have passed away and he is my best friend - there would be no better person!

Lloyd proposed to me on bended knee last year on holiday in Turkey, on the beach at night. Lloyd's Mum, Dad and Rian were all waiting patiently in the hotel as he had informed them what he was going to do and he had told Rian first to make sure he was happy, and he was! So he got the OK.

So that's how we met each other, a blind date more or less. I think it was fate that brought us together and in my eyes it's very romantic and I hope you think so too!

Maggie and Lloyd

When Maggie and Lloyd received their email and had found out that they had come runners up, Maggie spent the best part of two days trying to get a hold of me! (Sorry Maggie!!) But until we finally had our phone coversation, I received the most beautiful email from Maggie, which I have printed and put on the wall behind my work desk. Thank you so much for that.

Since talking to you both on the phone I can not wait to be a part of your wedding journey and to celebrate my birthday a day early in your company too!

See you soon! =)
