Inspired

I always try to photograph something for myself when I have a day free. Strangely enough when I woke up on Sunday morning the last thing I wanted to do was lift up my camera. Isn't that strange? I just wanted to have a lazy day for me. Don't remember the last time I had one. But then I started to gather some props for the afternoon ahead and I began to get excited...

The funny thing is, is that when I began to plan Sunday's shoot I had a whole other plan in mind. I had lifted out completely different outfits from a completely different era, had studied old photographs and had planned it out in my head what I was going to do... but on Saturday night my friends Erin and Vanessa came over to watch a movie and we watched Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe as they had never seen it. After it was over I had told them I had bought a dress only a few weeks ago purely because it reminded me of the film. After I had showed it to them it very swiftly became obvious that we were running on a good movie high and we already had a dress, why couldn't we have a go at that style of shoot instead...

Erin did her make up, I curled her hair (last time I had a go at curling someone's hair it was the 80's and the brush got tangled up in the poor girls hair and had to be cut out. I neglected to tell Erin this. I also discovered quickly after that experience that brushes don't curl hair even if you spin someone's hair tightly around it) the dress was put on and into the woods we went :)

We even roped in Mark to serenade us with his banjo skills

There are so many more images to come but thank you to Mark, Erin and Vanessa for making it possible and joining me on my last minute idea. :)
