James and Ashley {The Wedding}

Every once in a while you're lucky to be part of a wedding that is truly magical. And I'm not talking about details or settings. I'm talking about the connection between the couple. James and Ashley your love went above and beyond.

James and Ashley's wedding day started long before Amy and I got there. Ashley and James were to be married on the lawn of Loch Erne Golf Resort. To have an outdoor ceremony it required that they were to be married in an intimate ceremony with two witnesses and their parents at 9am. It's no wonder that Ashley and James's day was brim filled with love from start to finish.

We met Ashley and the girls two hours later at the hairdressers :)

James had some surprises in store for Ashley. Didn't you know their wedding was front page news?! I always knew my photos would make the front page of the Telegraph ;)

If you're a blog follower you'll know that Ash and James had an engagement session with me. I designed a guestbook for them with their images from their session and this was Ashley's first seeing of it!

Ashley did her own make up. She locked herself in the bathroom and happily worked away. Ashley was unbelievably calm throughout her day. The weather reports scheduled rain all day and unbeknownst to everyone else she was sneaking off early to arrive in style. Everything was crossed that rain wouldn't spoil her entrance and their ceremony.

Gorgeous
Jamesy :)
James was a very happy groom! He greeted us with huge hugs when we arrive at his hotel room

Never in my days would I have imagined that I would have been lucky enough to photograph an out door wedding in Northern Ireland. Stunning.

That speck, is Ashley arriving in style!

Reactions!

A very happy Ashley!

Ashley was escorted by golf cart to the venue, and with her dress so full she was wedged onto the back but she made it look classy.

I love this next photo!

Ashley and her dad. I was delighted to have Amy join me as second shooter and she caught some fantastic moments!

I have to pinch myself when I see this image.

Love James's expression. For a couple who were already newly married they lived every moment of their ceremony. Beautiful.

My view

I love that Amy caught this!

Some of the girls!

The men looking very dapper

Ashley and the men :)

This next sequence of photographs had to be shown! Ashley worked the camera ;)

Lovely James

Couldn't resist another of Ashley

Awesome

usually Bride and Grooms entrance into the reception is cheers and claps and very simple. But as soon as I heard the start of the song from the Black Eyed Peas - Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night I knew I was standing in the wrong spot to capture their entrace as Ashley lead James around the room and danced around the tables. I caught this just as they'd finished with the happiness and laughter still on everyones faces :)

Their speeches were some of the most beautiful I've been lucky enough to hear. James's mum and Ashley both broke with tradition and made a speech and this moment captured below was after Ashley's (I don't think there was a dry eye in the room!). I've known Ashley the past few years through my cousin Jane (who was also bridesmaid) and I know what James and Ashley have been hit with over the past few years and months, so to witness them coming together on a day so special, entirely made out of love was just an absolute honor. Sometimes weddings can become more about details, more about the event and more about the show than the real heart of the matter which is love. Ashley and James made their day entirely theirs. Thank you SO MUCH for letting me and Amy witness it. Much love to you both xox
