19th September 2009...

Well, it's official...I've just put a great big X through the 19th September in my 2009 diary as my old friend Andy is getting married to the absolutely lovely Hannah!

I've known Andy since I was sixteen years old when we studied Media (Andy was in Kirsty's - twin sis and second shooter for weddings - class). In fact when I got my first camera and began to play around with it, it was Andy who happily stood in front of it.

In our very early twenties we went our seperate ways, Andy went to further his studies in Media in Manchester and Kirsty and I went on to study further in Media and Photography at home. The years went by and we all kept in contact through emails, texts and phonecalls (that usually came in the early hours of the morning when Andy was walking home from the pub!) and then, about two years ago he said that he'd be home for a few days and that he'd like us to meet someone...

I remember mouthing the words, 'meet someone?!' to Kirsty, because you have to understand, this had never happened before! There were girlfriends of course, but he'd never brought one home for us to meet!

And so, we were instructed to meet Andy in the beer garden at our local pub, and when we arrived (on a typical windy but trying to be a summers day) we saw a girl sitting on her own at a table. She looked up, immediately smiled and said, 'You must be The Twins!' And so, we met Hannah (Andy was grabbing drinks at the time!) and I have to say that within minutes of meeting her I knew that these two were perfect for each other.

Andy is a very funny and confident guy, well known for his teasing and sarcasm! Hannah is absolutely gorgeous and also very funny, confident and a lovely human being, who was won over by Andy's irish charm - at least this is what Andy says ;) But not only did he win over Hannah's heart, but he also won Ella's, Hannah's gorgeous young daughter.

The three of them moved from Manchester to Donaghadee earlier this year and over the summer, to Hannah's surprise, Andy got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! I got this text moments later...

So on the 19th of September I shall be there in the crowd, amongst their friends and family from both sides of the water, to witness an old friend, and a new friend get married to each other.
