Lara and Craig {The Wedding}

I don't ever remember meeting Craig for the first time. And I don't mind admitting that. In fact, I am very proud to admit it because it means that he was always there running about in my childhood memories when we all used to spend our summers playing in the park along with the rest of the gang. I do remember meeting Lara though! She was new to our school and town and I remember thinking that she had the best hair in the universe and deciding that when I grew up I was going to have lovely chestnut brown hair. (Obviously that never happened!)

It's a risky thing to risk a close friendship and turn it into something more, but with Craig and Lara it seemed to be the most natural and most obvious thing in the world. And one day that's exactly what happened. They became boyfriend and girlfriend, over time they then became engaged and three days ago in an intimate ceremony in front of their family and friends they became husband and wife.

I was asked over a year ago to photograph their wedding, before I'd properly launched my career and when I'd only had a few weddings under my belt, I was gobsmacked but they believed in me and my potential before I did and for that I will always be grateful.

Saturday had a magical feeling about it and part of me thinks that it was because wherever I turned there was a familiar face. So many old friends came back home to the small place we spent our childhoods to watch their two friends get married to each other. And I remember turning round to one friend in particular and saying to him, 'I'm so glad you made it home for this' knowing how busy he is and how he could count on one hand the amount of times he had been home over the past few years and he turned round to me and wholeheartedly said 'Are you kidding me, I wouldn't have missed this for the world.' And that was the feeling between all of us that day. That we as a whole were witnessing something wonderfully magic between two people. So with that, I wish all the love and best wishes you can have xo

I'd been trying to sneak it out of them for weeks as to what their first dance was going to be! But Craig would not budge! Turns out it was one of my favourite songs! Michael Buble's Everything. Lara and Craig sang the words during the whole song and these would almost have to be my fav shots of the day - their first dance...

There were certainly some groovers on the floor that evening!

Enjoy your cruise!! xox
