I would like to mention here and now that Shelley and Julie ARE NOT models. But I am telling you, you would not believe it to look at these pictures. Neither of them had done anything like this and not only were they thrown in at the deep end, but they were also introduced to extreme conditions. Our location was FREEZING so what you don't see are the hidden waterbottles, the gloves and the big blankets wrapped round the lower halves of their bodies.
Plus I am not going to lie, I am a giggler. Seriously. So not only was I a motormouth but I also giggled (I blame the cold and spider hysteria) from behind the camera during a lot of these shots plus the lighting was pretty difficult to work around so I know I talked a lot of nonsense to myself whilst trying to figure it all out so how they kept straight faces was unbelievable. I am sure Deborah will agree with me when I say you were top notch. Thank you.
I'm going to start with Shelley's shots. I met Shelley while she was a bridesmaid at Natalie and Johnny's wedding earlier in the year so if you're a blog follower you may recognise her :)
These next stage of shots I really did imagine Shelley as a 1920's starlet. What do you think?
I can't even begin to say how much I love this next photo, times a billion.
Deborah was desperate to get a shot in front of this big massive old door, which involved me getting on top of a set of ladders to get it, and I am the clumsiest person I know so thanks Debs for keeping hold of the ladder ;)
Now on to Julie. I'd heard a lot about Julie but never met her! My older sister Kerry is a teacher and used to teach her. In fact she also played matchmaker and gave Julie and Julie's now boyfriend a nudge in the right direction towards each other ;) (what can I say, we're a family of romantics) Plus my twin sister also now works with Julie and was in fact the person who recommended Julie for the shoot. Thanks Kirsty :)
I have to say I have never seen one person change so much in photographs pulling off so many different looks. Peggy Button also designed the hairpieces that Julie is wearing in some of these shots, especially for the shoot.
Anyone else think Julie looks like Heather Locklear in this next shot?
Julie is also the proud owner of Disney princess eyes. Seriously.
