As I've stated before, I think it's incredibly important to get out with the camera and photograph for yourself and to explore new ideas and remember what makes you love being behind a camera in the first place. I know there are days when I'm so bogged down with processing, designing and paperwork I don't get to touch my camera and there are times I don't want to touch it because I think, you're only creating more work for yourself Carly don't do it. But the urge to get snapping is always greater, and the end result is ALWAYS worth it :)
So yesterday Selina and I went out with my camera. The task I set for myself was to capture texture and movement. I had photographed Danielle and Gavin's session at Orlock, which has the most amazing fields growing (correct me if I wrong) wheat and I knew it would be perfect for what I had in mind. But after we climbed our way up, to my utter horror the fields had been newly harvested. Luckily those fields lead to rocks with wild grass growing and that's where we went.
Now before you look through these images I should declare here and now that Selina deserved a medal because not only was it a cold blustry day (when you're standing on rocks facing out to sea it's much colder) and it rained on us twice! Thank you Selina for 'being up for the craic!'
Now usually I'm not a fan of high contrast studio looking photos, but seeing as I know our backdrop was the sea, this doesn't count ;)
That gorgeous purpley haze behind her was a rain storm coming, but I think, with Selina's help of course, it's a stunning looking rain storm!
When I look at these photos I think Selina looks like a cross between Patsy Kensit and Kate Moss
