If you're a past bride and groom you'll know that I like to know the exact times that everything has been planned for. In that way there are (hopefully) no mistakes and we're not beginning to shoot your couple shots when they are calling you in for dinner. For Ann and Greg's day the timings were tight. Probably the tightest I've ever had to work to but the one thing we didn't account for, was the time it would take for us to scale up the winding, scary castle steps to the top floor of the Keep whilst making sure we didn't kill Ann, break her leg or drop any photographic equipment. My lovely assistant Kirsty was also terrified that we would encounter a ghost due to the castle being haunted! But I am delighted to say that we made it :)
After making it back down to solid ground and waiting for their guests to join us for the group shots we grabbed some more. Obviously the bum squeezing worked :)
Celebrations
At Hedingham they have a specific spot of where you're allowed to throw confetti and it's actually rather genius. On the bridge. The guests line up on either side, confetti in their hands and bride and groom walk through. Now Ann and I got quite excited by this idea and couldn't wait for this moment. Ann had excitedly prepared lots of confetti and we were ready...
I imagined lovely confetti moments. Photographs filled with wonder, joy and romance and lots of soft floating confetti. Can you picture it...?
Well. Lets just say, a terrific battle took place on the bridge that day between bride and groom and confetti throwers. And the confetti throwers won. Floaty moments, not so much ;)
